Local artists sought for bicentennial art show
SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY The Sullivan County Bicentennial Committee, in conjunction with the Catskill Art Society, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and D&H Canvas, is soliciting local artists to participate in the 2009 Bicentennial Celebration.
The committee seeks 15 artists who live in or have a connection to Sullivan County to create a canvas-based piece capable of being vertically hung, representative of one of the 15 townships of Sullivan County for a mobile art show. Artists chosen for this project will be assigned a township according to their preferences whenever possible, and will receive a standard-sized canvas and up to $75 worth of supplies.
The Bicentennial Scenes Mobile Art Show, with information about each artists background and local studio space, will travel throughout Sullivan County for the 2009 Sullivan County Bicentennial Celebration. All commissioned pieces will be auctioned off at a silent auction, with the proceeds going to benefit the artistic and cultural endeavors of the 2009 Bicentennial Celebration.
All submissions must be received by Wednesday, February 11 at 5:00 p.m. For detailed submission information, visit sgnet.us and click on Bicentennial Steering Committee.
