Animal tales explored at PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack

HAWLEY, PA — Winter was a time for elders to gather together the younger members of Native American tribes to share with them stories of how things came to be. A program to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16 at PPL’s Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center will recreate such a gathering. Katie Lester, PPL naturalist, will begin the program with a selection of Native American folktales about animals. Participants will then explore the various skins and skulls of mammals found in Pennsylvania and learn what makes each one unique.

This free program is great for all ages. Registration is required. For more information email pplpreserves@pplweb.com or call 570/251-6196.
