Sullivan West’s Figueroa, Reimer and T-V’s Yager named Varsity 845 All-Stars

MIDDLETOWN, NY—When it comes to choosing All-Stars from across Section Nine, there are many players to take into account. In the mix are players from all schools regardless of size, and that makes the odds of being selected for the Times Herald-Record Varsity 845 All-Stars a major honor.

With the great success of Monroe-Woodbury that got to the state final for the fourth straight year, having two players chosen for the first-team offense and four for the first-team defense came as no surprise. While there were no Sullivan County football players named to the first team, Sullivan West senior running back Dan Figueroa earned a spot on the second team offensive roster. Figueroa gained 1,390 total yards and scored 13 touchdowns for the Class C regular-season champs.

Teammate Brad Reimer, Sullivan West’s senor quarterback, was named to the third team offense, essentially ranking him as the third best QB in the entire section. Reimer dominated the small schools with 23 rushing touchdowns and 16 touchdown passes. He managed 2,198 total yards of offense.

Tri-Valley senior Andrew Yager also earned a berth on the third-team offense. His blocking helped running backs average nearly six yards per carry.
