Special holiday services
HONESDALE, PA Pastor Kenneth Buckwalter and the congregation of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church at 7th and Church Streets will host a German Christmas Service on Sunday, December 14 at 6:00 p.m. There will be candle-lit Christmas carols and German liturgy. Refreshments will be offered following the service, including German-style goodies like Lebkuchen cookies.

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY The First Grace Lutheran Church will hold a U2charist, a complete church service set to the music of U2, on Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. The worship will explore the Millenium Development Goals and the One campaign, and a special offering will be taken to be sent to BREAD.org. The One campaign is concerned with extreme poverty and hunger, universal education, gender equality, child mortality, maternal health and environmental sustainabililty.

BEACH LAKE, PA Philosopher and author David Wolf examines the topic of Darkness and Light on December 14 at 10:15 a.m. at the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in the Berlin Township Community Center in Beach Lake. Wolf holds a Masters Degree in Philosophy, and is the author of the book Philosophy That Works. Light refreshments will follow the service.
