Actresses sought for film
to be shot locally
HURLEYVILLE, NY The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) is embarking on a small independent film project in conjunction with an organization called Tom Chei Yesomim in Brooklyn. It is seeking actresses to play both small and leading roles in the film (working title Mrs. Kimmelshteyn), set in 1930s New York and involving Jewish immigrants. Several 13-year-old girls are needed as well as girls aged eight to 15, and also actresses who can play 40s, 50s, and 70s-plus.
Lori Schneider-Wendt of the SCDW will be auditioning/rehearsing/directing the actresses locally and the filming (film maker is being provided by Tom Chei Yesomim) is due to start on or about January 18, mostly on location in the county, although some scenes may require some of the actresses to travel into NYC. Travel reimbursement has been negotiated for actresses.
Auditions will be held at the Sullivan County Museum, 265 Main Street in Hurleyville, on Sunday, December 7 at 5:00 pm. Please come prepared to do a cold reading from the script. As the project is intended for an orthodox, observant population, please come dressed modestly.
