Poet brings thoughts for the season to Unitarian service

BEACH LAKE, PA — The Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will host poet Laura E. J. Moran, who will present poems about nature and spirituality interspersed with thoughts on “Being Thankful for Good Work,” on Sunday, November 30.

Moran, who has a home in Damascus, has been hailed as “a wordsmith of the highest caliber. Few poets in the country can match her stunning combination of sensuality, reality and artistry. She is a performer who brings every element of authentic human spirit to the stage.” (Kristen Knowles, Cape Cod Poets’ Theater). She is the 1992 recipient of the Jean Garrique Award for Poetry and has presented her poetry throughout the country and abroad at numerous universities. schools, festivals, competitions and organizations such as Wellesley and Bennington colleges, the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC and the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos.

The one-hour service, which begins at 10:15 a.m., will be held at the Berlin Township Community Center. All are welcome, and following the service there will be a “post-Thanksgiving” potluck lunch, so all are urged to bring a dish to pass.
