Giving trees sprout up at Peck’s, Whistle Stop

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Giving Tree project, a traditional Christmas effort of the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Auxiliary, Narrowsburg, will begin the day after Thanksgiving. Trees at Peck’s Market and The Whistle Stop Café, both on Kirk Road, will bear tags listing age and gender of a child in the area. Donors are asked to leave unwrapped gifts (maximum cost $10), along with the tag selected, at Peck’s Market before December 15.

Volunteers will sort, wrap and arrange pickup of the gifts by Christmas to make the holidays happier for these children.

This effort was managed by Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Service crew members for over 20 years before time and training constraints inspired formation of the auxiliary to lend a hand.
