Fall holiday craft workshops to be held
LIBERTY, NY The Cornell Cooperative Extension Center of Sullivan County will host four 4-H Youth Development Program Fall Workshops on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. All workshops cost $5.
Kids Thanksgiving Table Decoration. Children will make a scarecrow and turkey centerpiece out of Indian corn, terracotta pots, and various decorative materials. Class is limited to 12 participants age seven to 10. Youth under age seven must be accompanied by a parent.
Crystal Wreath. Participants age five and up will create a wreath with a magical snow-and-ice look. Participants must be able to tie an overhand knot and those under nine must bring an adult for assistance.
Holiday Lights in a Jar. Participants age five and up will learn to turn on the holiday mood with color, lights and potpourri. Youth under age nine must bring an adult.
Paint-Swirled Ornament. Participants age five and up will learn how to decorate glass ball ornaments with paint. Those under nine must bring an adult. Class is limited to 15 participants.
There will also be on-going community service activities available at no cost to the public. Make one or more greeting cards for the Sullivan County Meals on Wheels Program, or write a letter to a soldier, or soldiers family for the Operation Military Kids project.
