SCDW to present dress rehearsal of ‘Proof’

HURLEYVILLE, NY—The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop will present “Proof,” a production that has been chosen for statewide competition at the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) Festival, on Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sullivan County Museum.

This will be the last chance to see the show before its trip to the TANYS Festival. David Auburn’s play is a story of a young woman, who, on the eve of her 25th birthday is wondering how much of her brilliant father’s genius or madness she has inherited. The play features performances by Rebecca Robbins, Max Schaefer, Jim Sullivan and Laura Ogden under the direction of Lori Schneider-Wendt.

Sullivan West’s drama evokes chills with staging of eerie plays and selected shorts

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY—Ghosts, vampires, witches, specters, creeps and a headless horseman traversed the stage at Sullivan West on November 7 and 8 as the drama club, directed by Russell Johansen, Nick Iacovetti and student Hannah Rettoun, staged “The Haunted Auditorium.” It starred Grace O’Connor as Joyce, the new drama teacher who is soon terrified by custodian Mr. Karn—creepily enacted by Samuel Satanovsky—with his tales about the death of a former student actor and the subsequent haunting of the facility.

Lutherans to hold Fellowship Fair

Special Thanksgiving pie sale to help fund winter heating

NARROWSBURG, NY—The Women’s Group of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will sponsor its annual Fellowship Fair on Saturday, November 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the parish hall at 31 Erie Avenue. Lunch will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will include a variety of homemade soups, hot beef on a bun, desserts and beverages.
