Pittman to introduce her newest in Grahamsville
GRAHAMSVILLE, NY The Daniel Pierce Library will sponsor a visit by published author and illustrator Helena Clare Pittman on Friday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m., in the Social Hall of the Grahamsville United Methodist Church. Pittman will introduce and read from her newly published book, Crow Flies. Crow Flies is the story of a crows flight, told in free verse, and illustrated in painted, cut paper. Pittman will show and explain the process of creating the book, which is appropriate for all ages. The evening will also include readings from some of Pittmans other books. Signed copies of Crow Flies will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.
Helena Clare Pittman has published 16 childrens books, numerous stories in Cricket Magazine, and writes for several upstate newspapers. She received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute, where she trained in painting and art education. She received her Master of Arts from Antioch College in Art, Writing, and Art and Writing Education, and has taught since 1969.
