Kaiser to present ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’

MONTICELLO, NY — Robert J. Kaiser Middle School will present “Willy Wonka Jr.” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 at Monticello High School.

Select high school students were given the opportunity to work with Gladys Calzada, a professional make-up artist, to learn how to apply make-up for the young thespians taking to the stage. They learned how to age people with make-up, to create realistic beards with make-up and even how to add a little pudge (handy for Augustus Gloop). They also learned about basic stage make-up techniques so they could use highlights and lowlights to add contours under the bright, harsh lights of the stage.

Tickets cost $5 for adults, $3 for students and are free for senior citizens.
