Presentation on Pennsylvania’s forests

HONESDALE, PA — A professor of forest resources from Pennsylvania State University will give a presentation on “Pennsylvania’s Forests: Challenges and Opportunities” at the Wayne County Cooperative Extension Association’s annual meeting on Wednesday, November 5, at the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale.

The doors will open with a reception at 6:00 p.m. A family-style dinner by the Red School House restaurant will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. James Finley will talk about the current state of Pennsylvania’s forests and discuss the challenges and opportunities of wood-based energy initiatives. Finley is a noted expert in sustainable forestry and private forest-owner issues, and has been involved in research projects studying forest regeneration and wildlife habitat.
