Narrowsburg to New Orleans

NARROWSBURG, NY — “New Orleans Interior, November 2005,” by Narrowsburg resident Francis Cape, will be one of the works of art on exhibit at a show titled “It Happened Here” at the Suraci Gallery of Marywood University in Scranton from October 11 to December 7, and at “Prospect I” in New Orleans from November 1 through January 18.

The photos were taken during a trip Cape took to New Orleans in late October 2005, two months after hurricane Katrina hit, to work on the relocation of holdings of the Louisiana State Museum from the old U.S. Mint building, which had been damaged in the storm. In late October, Cape will return to New Orleans to install a new work, “London Avenue,” which addresses government inaction in the wake of hurricane Katrina, as part of a show called “Prospect I” that will include work by over 85 artists from around the world.
