Find your voice at Beaverbrook Cottage
NARROWSBURG, NY The Upper Delaware Writers Collective (UDWC) will sponsor a writing workshop at its newly renovated workshop space, Beaverbrook Cottage.
Join teacher S. Zoe Hecht for Finding your Authentic Voice: Writing the Write, a three-hour workshop on the proprioceptive writing method. Proprioceptive writing, which originated in Maine in the 1970s, is a method for facilitating emotional health, spiritual awakening and creative breakthroughs. It is appropriate for all skill levels, from beginner to professional. It has been characterized as a form of meditation as well as a valuable writing tool, and a way to write through writers block.
Hecht was trained in the proprioceptive writing method in 1992 by its developers, Linda Trichter-Metcalf and Simon Tobin. She has taught workshops at the Womens Theological Center writers group in Boston, in the Harwood Museum writers group in Taos, NM and for individual groups in New York and Rhode Island.
The class will be held Saturday, October 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Cost is $25; $20 for students, seniors and UDWC members. Class size is limited and registration is required. For more information call 845/252-7506.
