Blood Drive in memory of Terry Forshay
Blood type O+ especially needed
LIBERTY, NY There will be a blood drive in memory of Terry Forshay on Friday, October 17 from 1:30 t0 7:00 p.m. at Sullivan County Cornell Cooperative Extension at 64 Ferndale Loomis Road.
Forshay was a Master Gardener at the extension, and enjoyed sharing her gifts and beautifying the surrounding community. She volunteered for Sullivan County Renaissance and helped with the Neversink barn quilts and Willowemoc Historic Kiosk projects.
Forshay passed away on September 21 at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
There is an urgent need of blood type O+, as 39 percent of the population has this type and all patients can receive platelets from this type, 86 percent of patients can receive red blood cells and 45 percent of patients can receive O+ plasma. However, all blood types are needed.
