‘Proof’ takes the stage in Narrowsburg

NARROWSBURG, NY—The Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop will presents David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning drama, “Proof,” at the Tusten Theatre at 210 Bridge Street.

On the eve of her 25th birthday, Catherine (Rebecca Robbins of Rosendale), has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert (Max Schaefer of Glen Spey), a brilliant mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire (Laura Ogden of Saugerties); and the attentions of Hal (Jim Sullivan of Long Eddy), a former student of her father’s who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind.

PumpkinFest goes into the dark

Fireworks to put an exclamation point to festival’s extended hours

BARRYVILLE, NY—Activities at the sixth annual PumpkinFest, on Saturday October 11, will extend into the evening for the first time, with a pig roast, movie-screen-sized karaoke sing-a-long, blazing bon fire and an 8:00 p.m. fireworks display donated by The Springhouse Commons and the Datys Family.

Bradstan hosts final solo shows

BETHEL, NY —The Nancy LaMott Room of Bradstan Country Hotel will host its final solo cabaret shows with a double bill of two of its most popular solo regular performers on Sunday, October 12. At 7:00 p.m., Joana Dutcher will perform her solo cabaret show and the evening will close with a 9:30 performance by local favorite Lumiri Tubo.

Unlike the Bradstan’s usual evenings, the two shows will be completely different and separate. Admission costs $40 per person and includes the first beverage.
