Triad Dance Ensemble in salon performance at Beaverbrook Cottage

NARROWSBURG, NY — The newly renovated Beaverbrook Cottage will be the venue for Triad’s premiere of “Crazy Good Luck,” a one-woman show written and performed by director Karen MacIntyre. “Crazy Good Luck” is collection of songs, monologues and short dances that unfold as a woman revisits five characters from her past, shattering old myths that have taken root over time.

In addition, local dancer and professional actress Kristen Borstelmann will perform MacIntyre’s “The Soldier’s Wife,” Kurt Weill’s dark look at war recorded by PJ Harvey; and Loretta Thomas will debut “Women’s Voices,” a suite of dance pieces performed to the music of classic songbird Joni Mitchell.

An intimate setting, along with a wine, cheese and dessert reception, will create a salon feel to the evening. There will be two showings, on Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18, at 8:00 p.m. Suggested donation is $20, and because seating is limited, reservations are recommended. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.

Creation and presentation of this project are made possible in part with funds from the 2008 Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts administered in Sullivan County by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
