Register to vote

With the general election scheduled for November 4, deadlines for registration and absentee ballot requests are upcoming. Registration forms are available in most post offices and in municipal offices. Each county also staffs a Board of Elections where registration forms can be filled out.

Wayne County

Location: Wayne County Board of Elections, Wayne County Court House in Honesdale, PA. 570/253-5978. Hours: 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, with additional hours on Saturday, October 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Monday, October 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registration deadline: Monday, October 6. All mail in registrations must be postmarked by this date. Absentee ballots: Last day to get an application is October 28. All ballots must be received by October 31 at 5:00 p.m.

Pike County

Location: The Pike County Board of Elections at the Pike County Administration Building, Milford, PA. 570/296-7744. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration deadline: Monday, October 6. All mail in registrations must be postmarked by this date. Absentee ballots: October 28; Absentee ballots for military personnel must be in the board of elections office by October 31.

Sullivan County

Location: The Sullivan County Board of Elections at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello. 845/794-3000, ext. 5024. Additional locations are Bethel Justice Court and Bethel Senior Center, Jeffersonville town hall; South Fallsburg Senior Center; Fallsburg Town Hall; Eldred Town Hall; Mamakating Town Hall and Rockland Town Hall. Hours: From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with additional hours on Tuesday, October 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and extended hours on October 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Registration deadline: Friday, October 11. All by mail registrations must be postmarked by Friday, October 10. Absentee ballots: November 1. By mail, ballots must be postmarked by November 3.

If your residence has changed due to foreclosure and you have been unable to re-register following the procedures above, you can still vote by going to your former polling station on November 4 and filling out a form called “Affirmation of Elector” in Pennsylvania or an “Affidavit Ballot” in New York.
