Hike the fall forests at Frost Valley

CLARYVILLE, NY — Fall foliage enthusiasts are invited on a guided hike through Frost Valley YMCA’s Model Forest in Claryville on Sunday, October 5 starting at 1:00 p.m.

Members of Frost Valley’s Natural Resources Department will lead the free hike, which has been scheduled to coincide with the height of autumn’s splendor.

The hike will be an easy two-mile trek through Frost Valley’s Model Forest—the largest operation of its type in New York State. Hikers will learn about sound forestry practices and can test out their tree identification skills.

The event will be held rain or shine. Participants should wear good hiking shoes and bring water bottles, a snack and sun screen.

The amount of hikers will be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
