Sunday Night Cinema screens Israeli film

HONESDALE, PA — Israeli filmmaker Eran Kolirin’s debut feature, “The Band’s Visit,” will be screened as part of the Wayne County Arts Alliance’s (WCAA) Sunday Night Cinema program at 7:00 p.m. on October 5. The film is a subtle, heartfelt and humane work that goes a long way toward dissolving the complex cultural divide that continues to plague the Middle East.

The following week’s film, to be shown on October 12, will be Deepa Mehta’s “Water,” a tragic love story set in British-ruled India on the eve of independence and modernity. Both films will be shown at the Community Center, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, 32 Commercial Street.

WCAA’s Sunday Night Cinema Series is open to the public. The fall series features films from around the world. The suggested donation is $5 per person.
