Reimer rushes for five TDs and throws for two more as Dawgs outscore explosive Millbrook in key league tilt

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY—Strike three.

For the third week in a row, Sullivan West quarterback Brad Reimer led a juggernaut offense to victory as Sullivan West downed Millbrook 56-35 in a possible preview of a Class C playoff game in late October. Reimer topped his two prior three-TD games with a high five, striking gold with scores of 23, 20, two, eight and 39 yards.

Throwing strikes is Reimer’s focus during baseball season. But following his stunning gridiron performance of carrying the ball 18 times for 152 yards, running for five TDs and tossing two more, Millbrook wishes that Reimer had been away on a previously planned baseball prospect camp at Miami of Ohio on September 19, rather than postponing it until December.

Heading north

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY—Confucius says, “Journey of thousand miles begins with single step.” Such ancient philosophy was relevant for the Tri-Valley Bears, who overcame some early flutters on September 20 to beat a young Pine Plains team 42-7 in a league game that the Bears simply had to win.

Volleyball

At last!

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY—“All things come to (s)he who waits,” goes the saying. But when it comes to getting a long-awaited win in volleyball, one must add “and to she who dives for balls, makes better passes, makes fewer service errors and ultimately wants it more.”

In the league match between host Sullivan West and Fallsburg on September 17, those attributes were best demonstrated by the Lady Comets, who came away with their first win since coach Andrea Millas took over the coaching reins last season. The volleyball drought preceded Millas’ tenure.
