Nature treks at PEEC

LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, PA—The staff at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in Dingmans Ferry is exploring a variety of nature themes during the center’s fall nature treks. The Dingmans Falls Equinox Walk will be held on Saturday, September 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Participants will meet at the Dingmans Falls parking lot for the walk. This nature trek is $6 per person for PEEC members and $8 for non-members.

Watch out for deer in rutting season

PENNSYLVANIA—Pennsylvania Game Commission has advised motorists to slow down after sundown and before sunrise to reduce their risk of having a close encounter with a white-tailed deer. Deer collisions are an annual occurrence that will continue through Thanksgiving week and begin to slow down in mid-December.
