Woody Allen’s newest at CineArt

CALLICOON, NY — Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” will be this month’s CineArt Feature starting on Friday, September 19 at the Callicoon Theatre at 30 Upper Main Street. Showtimes will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday through Thursday, September 25, plus a matinee on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m.

The movie is a romantic comedy starring Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. The critically acclaimed film centers around two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain who become enamored of the same painter. The Wall Street Journal described it as “a bittersweet meditation on art and passion and on love in its many guises,” and many critics have hailed it as Allen’s best movie in years. Cruz has been mentioned as an Oscar possible for her performance.

Tickets cost $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12. A percentage of the profits and $1 per person from ticket sales benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County.

CineArt is a partnership between Delaware Valley Arts Alliance and the Callicoon Theater that promotes and screens independent, foreign and art films.
