A night in Casablanca

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY —Sullivan County Community College (SCCC) Foundation’s 22nd annual gala, The Magic of Morocco, will be held on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Eagle’s Nest in Bloomingburg.

The special event to benefit the SCCC Foundation’s student scholarship program will feature the sights, sounds and flavors of Morocco. There will also be a silent auction, giving attendees the opportunity to bid on an array of prizes ranging from rugs, jewelry and art to getaways like a one-week stay in a Marrakech palace.

“The Eagle’s Nest will be transformed as never before,” said event chairperson Steve Wilkinson. “Guests will enjoy visiting themed rooms including Rick’s Café from the movie ‘Casablanca,’ as well as our outdoor Tent of Tangiers and House of Marrakech, which will be filled with the sounds of live dance music from the Common Ground Orchestra. This event will be a true Moroccan experience.”

Tickets cost $125 per person, and the dress is Casablanca chic.
