Zucchini showdown in Youngsville

Finally, something to do with all that extra squash

YOUNGSVILLE, NY — Slow Food Upper Delaware River Valley will present The Great Zucchini Challenge on Saturday, August 23 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Cutting Garden on Route 52.

Participants are invited to bring finished dishes to share or prize-worthy zucchini to show. There will be awards in professional, amateur and youth divisions. There will also be a recipe exchange and tasting, games and celebrity judges.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest zucchini, weirdest zucchini, scariest zucchini, zucchini that most looks like its grower, best-dressed zucchini, zucchini as art, best pet trick with a zucchini, zucchini sculpture and most creative way to get rid of a zucchini.
