Wine and food tasting to benefit library
HONESDALE, PA The Wayne County Public Library will host In Good Taste: an evenings wine and food tasting on Saturday, August 23 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tastings of six different wines from around the world will be offered over the course of the evening.
Claude Briere of the Settlers Inn is guiding the wine selections. Calkins Creek Vineyard will also have a table with tastings and wines for purchase. For the food tasting, many local growers and producers will donate items as the raw materials for Jills Kitchen to use in preparations.
Participating local farms and businesses include Ant Hill Farms, Beach Lake Bread, Calkins Creamery, Coutts Blueberry Farm, Fox Hill Farms, Kacers Kielbasa, Lantzsch Farms, Quails-R-Us, Salem Mountain Natural Vegetables, Mrs. Salaks Breads and Pies, Treeline Gardens, Wahoo Enterprises, Yatsonskys Farm Market and many others.
Tickets for the event cost $25 per person and are on sale at the library, Morning Glorys The Cottage, Selinas Giving Tree, Delaware & Hudson Hotel, Miscellaneous Essentials in Hawley, the UPS Store in the Route 6 Mall, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and the Honesdale Farmers Market. Platinum level sponsors of the event are the Honesdale National Bank and the Dime Bank. Gold level sponsors are the Wayne Bank and Wayne Memorial Health Services. A number of Silver Sponsors are also helping to support this event to benefit the Wayne County Public Library.
