CARMELA H. BREZA

Carmela H. Breza of Osprey Ridge Health Care Center in Carbondale, PA, died Sunday August 10, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Breza who died in 1997. She was 78.

Born July 28, 1930 in Madison, NJ she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Antoinette Parisi Troianello.

Surviving is her son, Paul R. Breza of New York, NY; daughters Deborah Corcoran and husband Frank of Beach Lake, PA and Janice Smoke and husband David of Torrey, PA; brothers Robert Troianello of New Jersey, Anthony Troianello of California, Alfonso Troianello Jr. of Virginia, Louis Troianello of Tyler Hill, PA and John Toianello of New Jersey; sisters Josephine Lajeunes, Ann Troianello and Rose Lemmerman, all of New Jersey; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Vincent and Ralph Troianello; and granddaughter Stacie O’Connell.

Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory in Archbald, PA. A memorial service will be held at a later date.


GARY LEE FULTON

Gary Lee Fulton, a lifetime Sullivan County resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the Orange County Regional Medical Center. He was 51.

The son of the late Joseph and Violet Daily Fulton, he was born on October 20, 1955 in Callicoon, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Fahnesock Fulton, at home; two sons, Gary Fulton Jr. and Matthew Fulton, both at home; two daughters, Virginia Fulton at home and Amber Fulton of Narrowsburg, NY; two brothers, Emmet Fulton and wife Dawn of Swan Lake, NY and Bruce Fulton of Lake Huntington, NY; a sister, Christina Hollenbeck and husband John of Livingston Manor, NY; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Taylor officiating.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill crematory in Middle Hope, NY.


ROBERT B. FULTON

Robert B. Fulton, a lifelong resident of Cochecton, NY, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 58.

The son of the late Bernard Fulton and Viola Wingert Fulton, he was born on January 27, 1950 in Callicoon, NY. He was married for 28 years to May McArthur Fulton, who survives.

Robert was a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Public Works for Sullivan County. He was a member of the Cherokee Club, NRA, Elks Lodge, Liberty and the Local 1 7 Union. Robert was an avid hunter, who loved the outdoors. He had a strong interest in antique John Deere tractors.

He is survived by his wife May at home; daughter Olivia Kern and husband Kenneth of Middletown, NY; grandchildren Hunter, Maegan and Kenneth Jr.; mother Viola Fulton of Cochecton; sister Jean Hector of New Jersey, nephew Michael Hector; and two nieces, Jennifer Norris and Melanie Hector.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, August 15, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Bethel, NY.

Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel.

EDWARD FRANCIS HOWEY

Edward Francis Howey of Middletown, NY, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. He was 65.

He was born July 31, 1943 in Sussex, NJ, the son of the late Edward and the late Anna Mills Howey. Edward and his wife Patricia were together for 32 years. He worked as a forklift operator for 23 years for Nexans in Chester, NY. He was a past shop steward of IBEW.

Surviving are his wife at home; two sons, Edward Howey Jr. of Pine Bush, NY and Tony Anderson and wife Kim of Florida, NY; six daughters, Christy Flanagan of Middletown, Dianna Goldman and husband Anthony of Plattekill, NY, Tracy Hadden and husband Robert of Middletown, Debbie Driver of Fort Myers, FL, Patricia Conklin of Middletown and Nancy Conklin of Walden, NY; three brothers, Robert Howey of Mobile, AL; Eugene Howey of Sparrowbush, NY and Jerry Brown of the state of Florida; three sisters, Betty Predmore of Port Jervis, NY, Shirley Bailey and Eleanor Moore of the state of Florida; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Clyde Raymond Howey; and his grandson, Edward F. Howey III.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. in the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., Port Jervis. Cremation was at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

ANDREW G. HUEBLER

Andrew G. Huebler of Shohola, PA passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 at home. He was 48.

He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1536, New York, NY.

The son of John and Nancy Decosmo Huebler, he was born October 21, 1959 in Queens. He was married to Nancy Sanfilippo.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Andrew C. Huebler of Murfreesboro, TN, Corinne Huebler, Denise Huebler and Gregory Huebler, all of Helmetta, NJ; his mother, Nancy Huebler of Shohola, PA; three brothers, John C. Huebler and Douglas Huebler, both of Staten Island, and Stephen Huebler of Milwaukee, WI; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford, PA on Saturday, August 9.

Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA at the convenience of the family.


EUGENE CHARLES MEYER

Eugene Charles Meyer, a lifelong resident of Cochecton Center, NY passed away at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY on August 6. He was 74.

He was born in Cochecton Center on December 21, 1933 to the late Jacob and Madeline Meyer and lived his entire life in the house where he was born. He married Mildred Elizabeth Niessen on September 20, 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 with the 168th Engineers Battalion in Germany.

He belonged to the Brotherhood of Carpenters Union for 19 years. In 1979, he became department head for new buildings at the Villa Roma in Callicoon, NY.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, David and wife Nanette of Yorktown, VA, Steven and wife Jenny of Windsor, NY, Thomas and wife Penny of Conklin, NY and John and wife Gina of Cochecton Center; 12 grandchildren, Megan and her husband Dan, Vanessa and husband Jeffrey, Lindsey, Jason, Christopher, Katrina, Joseph, Randi, Stephanie, Danielle, Jordan and Olivia; one brother, Joseph Meyer and wife Maria; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; two half brothers, John and Henry Meyer; and their children, Betty, John Jr. and Kenneth.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday August 11, 2008 at Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, Lake Huntington, NY with Rev. William Scully O.F.M. officiating. Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.

ORVILLE GEORGE MORGAN SR

Orville George Morgan Sr. of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. He was 68.

He was born December 29, 1939 in Huguenot, NY, the son of the late Floyd and the late Marion Conklin Morgan.

He was a member of Minisink Lanes bowling alley, and the Smokey Ridge Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Starlene Morgan, at home; one daughter, Michelle Adamsky and husband Walter of Sparrowbush; three sons, Patrick Morgan and companion Brandy Walker of Port Jervis, Christopher Morgan and wife Shelly of Sparrowbush and Orville Morgan Jr. and wife Beth of Port Jervis; one brother, Harrison Butch Morgan of Port Jervis; seven grandchildren, Paula, Ashley, Christopher Jr., Brittney, Lesley, Trent and Cort; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Rochelle Morgan; a brother, Floyd Morgan Jr.; and a sister Joan Furman.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis, with Rev. Robert D. Cassidy officiating. Burial was at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush.

ANNE M. REILLY

Anne M. Reilly of Port Jervis, NY, a lifetime area resident, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. She was 80.

She was born July 4, 1928 in Port Jervis, the daughter of the late Fred J. and the late Alice Davey Luckey.

She was a member of the AARP and the Port Jervis Seniors.

A family statement reads: “She was a gentle and kind person who will be forever loved and missed.”

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas J. Reilly, at home; one son, Patrick “Mickey” Reilly of Glen Spey, NY; two daughters, Maureen Siemers and husband William of Port Jervis and Robin Obermeyer and husband David of Huguenot, NY; two sisters, her twin sister Margaret Jenks and husband Merville of Port Jervis and Marion “Honey” Quinn and husband John of Port Jervis; two sisters-in-law, Sister Elizabeth Reilly, S.C. of Yonkers, NY and Kathleen Luckey of Port Jervis; five grandchildren, Jennifer Kowal and husband Richard, Mark Siemers and wife Bobbie, Maria Obermeyer, Daniel Obermeyer, Anthony Trochiano and fiancée Danielle O’Donnell; and two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Travis Kowal.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William and James Luckey.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 11, 2008 with a prayer service at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Port Jervis.

Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis.


STEPHEN SEDLETZKY

Stephen A. Sedletzky, a lifetime area resident, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Wayne County Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 89.

The son of the late Anthony and Agnes Stepanuck Sedletzky, he was born on September 28, 1918 in New York City.

Stephen was office manager for Combined Energy Services in Monticello, NY. He was a World War II Army Veteran; a member of St. George’s Roman Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, NY where he was senior usher; the Bethel Lions Club; and a 55-year member of the White Lake Fire Department, having served as fire commissioner. He was also an avid Yankees fan.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Elsworth Sedletzky, at home; stepson Robert DuBois and his wife Joanne of Orange Lake, FL; stepdaughter Nancy Brown and her husband Gerald of Jeffersonville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nieces, Donna Tyler, Nancy Matrafallo and Janice Zeller; one nephew, Kevin O’Connell; one sister, Francis O’Connell and her husband Robert of New City, NY; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Aileen Van Fradenburg and Ginger Libitsky.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. The Bethel Lions Club will hold services at 7:00 p.m. and the White Lake Fire Department services will be at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Ramsay’s Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the Revs. Ivan Csete and David Coon officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rt. 17B, Bethel, NY with full military honors.


BURTON S. STERNBURG

The Honorable Burton S. Sternburg passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at his home in Chevy Chase, MD from lung cancer. He was 80.

A native of Boston, Judge Sternburg earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University where he was also a member of the college boxing team. Specializing in labor law, Judge Sternburg earned a lifetime federal appointment as an Administrative Law Judge with the Labor Department in 1973. In 1979, he was selected to be in the first group of judges for the Federal Labor Relations Authority, which was established that year by President Jimmy Carter. He retired from the bench in 1994.

Judge Sternburg is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mildred; three sons, Jon, who serves as a physician in Narrowsburg, NY and Honesdale, PA and his wife Kathryn, Charles and his wife Louise and Fred and his wife Lauren; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Samuel and David; and a brother, Frederick and his wife Dorothy.

Funeral services were Monday, August 11 at Washington Hebrew Congregation, Washington, DC. Internment followed at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, Clarksburg, MD.
