Grande dame of the DVO to be honored at tailgate party
NARROWSBURG, NY Theatergoers and friends are invited to attend the first annual Tailgate Party on Sunday, August 17 at 5:30 p.m., a retirement and end-of-the-season cast party honoring Gloria Krause and establishing the Gloria Krause Endowment Fund.
The retiring Gloria Krause is the original general manager of the non-profit Delaware Valley Opera (DVO), a company that has presented 22 seasons of professional opera productions under her leadership. The Tailgate Party will be held at the Firemans Field behind the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg at 5:30 pm, immediately following the performance of Don Pasquale. Attendees are invited to meet Gloria and the DVO cast and crew and to share in the festivities by bringing food, drink and musical instruments.
The Delaware Valley Opera is a true regional opera company, dedicated to promoting professional area talent, fostering collaborations between creative and interpretive artists and technicians, bringing a wide range of repertory and top level productions to Narrowsburg and elsewhere in Sullivan County. The DVO is funded in part by the Gloria Krause Endowment Fund, dedicated to the payment of singers and musicians performance fees, and allowing the Delaware Valley Opera to bring excellent singers and musicians on an ongoing basis. The Delaware Valley Opera Training Program is a new program which started in July, showcasing emerging young singers with in-school workshops and performances called Divas on the Delaware.
Donations to the Gloria Krause Endowment Fund, which are tax deductible, can be mailed to DVO, P.O. Box 446, Narrowsburg, NY 12764, or call the DVO office at 845/252-3136.
