Springtime for Hitler in Forestburgh

FORESTBURGH, NY — The Forestburgh Theatre’s current production is the musical “The Producers,” based on Mel Brooks’ film of the same title. Shows are on Thursday, August 14, Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16 at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, August 17 at 3:00 p.m.

“The Producers” may just be Brooks’ zaniest inspiration. Who would have thought that a musical with the song “Springtime for Hitler” would prove to be an all-time Broadway classic? The musical has won more awards than any show in history, including 12 TonyŽ Awards. The storyline is a comedy classic: a crooked producer and his accountant figure out that the easiest way to make money on Broadway is to engineer a flop, and cook up a scheme to present a surefire trainwreck of a theatrical fiasco—with results that they don’t anticipate.
