Spotting eagles on the eddy

NARROWSBURG, NY — Michael Eurey of Narrowsburg, in the photo at right, checks out the fine view provided by the new high-powered spotting scope recently installed on the Main Street deck overlooking the Delaware River’s Big Eddy. The scope will allow for observation of eagles and other wildlife without disturbing these animal residents of the Upper Delaware region. The Town of Tusten purchased and installed the $3,600 scope as part of the Narrowsburg Beautification Group’s 2008 Sullivan Renaissance project, which supplied an additional $1,500 for projects at Narrowsburg’s Veterans Park and at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. The scope is easy to operate and is free of charge.
