From Allman Brothers to Jonas Brothers at Bethel Woods
BETHEL, NY The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will present a week of entertainment including the Allman Brothers Band with Bob Weir and RatDog, Counting Crows and Maroon 5 with Sara Bareilles and The Jonas Brothers.
On Tuesday, August 12, Southern rock legend the Allman Brothers Band marks its return to the stage with Bob Weir & RatDog. The Allman Brothers know better than most in this business how long a long time can be. In fact, this band, with its mix of down-home groove and instrumental virtuosity, blues-drenched soul and guitar-driven rock, laid the groundwork for what became known as the Southern Rock movement. The Allman Brothers Band formed in 1969, but the road veterans continue to tour. And theyre already legends, with a secure place in history, a Grammy Award and a plaque at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Reserved ticket prices are $79, $69, $49 and $25 for lawn. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for an 8:00 p.m. performance.
Wednesday, August 13 will feature the Counting Crows, along with Maroon 5 and special guest Sara Bareilles. Counting Crows originated in Berkeley, CA, and gained popularity in 1994 following the release of their debut album August and Everything After, which featured the hit single Mr. Jones. The bands influences include Van Morrison, R.E.M., Nirvana, Bob Dylan and The Band.
Maroon 5 will bring their mix of polished pop/rock and neo soul with hit songs such as This Love, She Will Be Loved, Harder to Breathe and Makes Me Wonder from their multiplatinum releases Songs About Jane and It Wont Be Soon Before Long.
Bareilles is currently burning up the charts with her follow up to 2007s Love Song, and her CD, Little Voice, reached #7 on the Billboard Top 200. She has been compared to Norah Jones and Fiona Apple.
Reserved ticket prices are $89, $75, $65, $59 and $34 for lawn. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. performance.
On Thursday, August 14, thousands will flock to Bethel Woods for pop-rock teen sensations the Jonas Brothers, on their Burning Up Tour, with special guest Demi Lovato.
The Wyckoff, NJ-based Jonas Brothers were the opening act on the blockbuster sellout Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds tour this winter, and also appeared in the Best of Both Worlds Concert film, which was the highest grossing concert film ever. The bands sophomore album, Jonas Brothers, released in August 2007 by Hollywood Records, and debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, has already been certified platinum. Their single S.O.S. went to #1 on the iTunes chart and their current single, When You Look Me in the Eyes, is Top 10 with no signs of slowing down. The band has recently finished their much anticipated third album, A Little Bit Longer, produced by John Fields and scheduled for release on August 12, 2008.
There are still a limited number of $31.50 lawn tickets available. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. performance.
Tickets are available at BethelWoodsCenter.org, by phone at 845/454-3388 and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are also available in person at the Bethel Woods box office. Parking is free.
