Fauchere to host artist John Kelly

PORT JERVIS, NY — Artist John Kelly will perform his new work, “Dargelos,” at the Hotel Fauchere on Saturday, August 2, with seating at 10:00 p.m. There is a $15 per person cover charge.

Kelly’s work began in New York’s East Village clubs in the early ‘80s. Since that time, he has performed at the Kitchen, PS 1, The Warhol Museum, the Whitney Biennial, Dance Theater Workshop, The Sundance Theatre Lab, The Drawing Center, LaMaMa ETC, Creative Time, Performance Space 122 and the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival.

As a singer, he performed three solo vocal recitals at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall and as a featured vocalist with the San Francisco Symphony’s Cultural Maverick Series, singing John Cage. “Paved Paradise,” his homage to the music of Joni Mitchell, was given as a command performance for Mitchell at Fez in 1998, for Joni’s Jazz in Central Park in 1999, and was the opening act for Natalie Merchant’s Ophelia tour.
