Loosier lets loose at Bradstan

WHITE LAKE, NY — Lynn Loosier will make her first appearance in The Nancy LaMott Room at The Bradstan for “Inn Cabaret” 2008 on Sunday, July 20 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. A redheaded, blue-eyed soul singer—which may seem like an oxymoron to those who tend to judge the book by the cover—she can sing any style of music from jazz, blues, R&B, gospel, country and rock. David Finkle at Backstage Magazine sums up her versatile and raw style with the simple sentence, “Lynn is a saloon singer.”

Loosier has been a featured soloist at both Lincoln Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center. She has sung with Jennifer Holliday, Sam Harris and local favorite Julian Fleisher, and has shared the stage with Broadway television actor Tom Wopat, who told her, “Next time I need to open for you.” But it is perhaps the advice from the legendary Patti Labelle that inspires Lynn’s passion for sharing her gift of music. “Never stop singing, cause girl, you can sing.”

A current resident of the Big Apple, Lynn’s roots go somewhat deeper; further south, that is, to the heart and soul of Georgia. Her southern upbringing can be felt, as well as heard, in every one of her passionate deliveries from classic blues to gospel to jazz. Her soulful renditions bring to mind giants Ella, Billie and Sarah, yet are firmly anchored by her own undeniably southern style.

The admission fee of $40 includes the first beverage.
