MONGAUP VALLEY, NY—For more than two years, Swinging Bridge Reservoir stood almost empty, pending ongoing dam repairs. It reopened last summer, and now its new owner, Alliance Energy Renewables, LLC plans a boffo welcome-back party in the form of a charity open bass fishing tournament on Saturday, July 19. The company is guaranteeing a $10,000 total payout in prizes. First Bassmasters of Sullivan County will co-sponsor the event.

Music, music everywhere

WCM’s two-week celebration set to resound around the region

REGION—One of the great musical events of the summer every year in this region is the annual two-week music festival held by The Weekend of Chamber Music. That festival is set to commence this coming Sunday with a free open-air concert at 3:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Presbyterian church on Main Street in Jeffersonville, NY.

Hawley holds its second annual garden tour

HAWLEY, PA—Hawley’s second annual garden tour, scheduled for Saturday, July 12, will feature scenery from secret alcoves to lush landscapes and every type of garden in between. A total of 10 local business owners and residents will open their gardens and share their gardening secrets with tour participants, who can walk or drive through town to visit each of the venues.
