PoeTree at Grey Towers

MILFORD, PA – Members of the Upper Delaware Writers Collective (UDWC) will be giving a reading at Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. The reading, titled “PoeTree,” features original work by UDWC members on the theme of trees in honor of former Grey Towers resident Gifford Pinchot, who founded the U.S. Forestry Service. The reading is part of an arts weekend hosted by Grey Towers. Here is an excerpt from one of the poems to be performed:

“Meet me at the cabin in the woods / between this world and the next, my next. / Let’s walk through the beeches, hemlocks, maples, not stop / until we pass the nonsense that pervades, / transcend ideas of reality and right.” The poet is Vickie Diescher.
