Job Corps plans a pyrotechnic celebration of community

CALLICOON, NY — On Thursday, July 17, the Delaware Valley Job Corps Center will kick off a month-long celebration of America with a community fireworks extravaganza. The center is located on the hill overlooking the Delaware River Valley at the site of the historic St. Joseph’s Seminary, in Callicoon, NY, an ideal location to give a spectacular view of the show from many local vantage points,

The Delaware Valley Job Corps Center is a Career Technical and GED/High School Diploma training center operated by the Management and Training Corporation for the United States Department of Labor. Job Corps features a student body consisting of young people, ages 16 to 24, who freely particpate in a rigorous career training program that prepares them for the challenges of today’s global workforce.

At Delaware Valley Job Corps, students continue to develop skills in areas including electrical, carpentry, culinary arts, business and finance and computer service.

“Callicoon and the surrounding communities are part of the Delaware Valley family” said center director James Turner. “This fireworks’ display is part of our on-going commitment to be good neighbors to those around us.”
