LAKE WALLENPAUPACK, PA — The Hawley-Lake Wallenpaupack Chamber of Commerce will present Fourth of July Fireworks at Lake Wallenpaupack on Friday, July 4 at dusk.

HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership will set off fireworks on Irving Cliff, viewable from Central Park, starting at dusk on Thursday, July 3.

MONTICELLO, NY — On Friday, July 4, Monticello Gaming & Raceway will stage its 39th annual fireworks extravaganza approximately 15 minutes after the races end. The first post that evening will be at 7:30 p.m., and it will be the only night-time race card during the 2008 season. The fireworks will be the product of Garden State Fireworks Company and be displayed above the infield of the racetrack. Admission is free.

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Narrowsburg Fire Department and the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce will hold fireworks at dusk on Saturday, July 5.

Parades, festivals and ceremonies

HAWLEY, PA — Festivities will be held on Friday, July 4 starting at 12:00 noon, when the annual Fourth of July parade steps off on Main Avenue. Hawley’s First Friday will begin early, at 2:00 p.m., themed “On The Boardwalk.” The shore/beach atmosphere will feature boardwalk foods such as hot dogs, caramel corn and fries along with carnival style games, music and more.

HONESDALE, PA — A celebration will be held on Thursday, June 3, starting about 5:30 p.m. There will be old-fashioned games for kids, hot dogs, ice cream and three bands: The Pharm, Doug Smith and his Dixieland All Stars and the Crystal Band of Scranton. The festival is provided by the Wayne County Council on the Arts.

LIBERTY, NY — Liberty’s Fourth of July celebration will be held on Friday, July 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A parade will step off at 12:00 noon. There will be vendors along Liberty’s North Main Street, an antique car and tractor show, children’s games and activities, live music and a watermelon-eating contest.

LUMBERLAND, NY — The Town of Lumberland will hold a Fourth of July parade at 12:50 p.m. The parade route runs from the Lumberland firehouse to the town hall, and will be followed by a family fun day with food, games and activities at Circle Park.

NARROWSBURG, NY — Narrowsburg’s Fourth of July celebration, held on Saturday, July 5, will start with a parade on Main Street at 3:00 p.m., and continue with a DJ, a car show on Main Street, a chicken barbeque at the firehouse from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and live music on Main Street from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

NARROWSBURG, NY — Fort Delaware, a museum of early colonial life on the shores of the Delaware, will hold readings of the Declaration of Independence every day from Friday, July 4 through Monday, July 7. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. As always, there will be re-enactments of Colonial life, with a focus this weekend on Colonial cooking. For more information call 845/252-6660.
