MILFORD, PA — Starting this weekend, the Gallery at Antiques of Milford in Forest Hall will host a show of paintings on wood by local artist David Lee Bush titled “Dawn to Dusk.” The show marks Bush’s second consecutive year exhibiting locally.

Bush is a Shohola artist and New York City graphic designer who finds motivation and inspiration from the light and space of the Upper Delaware River Valley. The new paintings represent the changing light across the arc of a single day, as reflected in the objects around us.

Schooling at the University of Hawaii, UC Santa Cruz and Parsons School of Design in New York steered Bush to a 25-plus-year career in New York City working for media companies like Disney Consumer Products, Warner Bros., Viacom and United Media Licensing as a product and packaging designer. Shifting from the corporate world in 2005, he came to Shohola to live and work, establishing his studio on a panoramic stretch of the Delaware River Valley. After serving city clients during the day, Bush crosses to the other side of his studio and paints into the night, drawing inspiration from the never-ending supply that is right outside his door.

Works by Bush are included in the most recent Salmagundi Club Open Exhibition at 47 Fifth Avenue in New York City from June 30 through July 18.
