Shandelee holds pre-season benefit

Intimate house concert to feature Midori

NEW YORK CITY, NY — The Shandelee Music Festival will hold its 15th anniversary pre-season benefit garden party and concert, featuring the world-renowned violinist Midori and acclaimed pianist Charles Abramovic, on Saturday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. in one of Manhattan’s beautiful old-world private homes. There will be an hors d’oeuvres reception preceding the performance. Seating is limited.

One of today’s most internationally recognized artists, Midori’s playing has been described as “intense, assured and polished throughout” (The Washington Times), containing “irresistible warmth and intensity” (The New York Times) and “so finely spun, infinite in her pianissimo charms, it was as though an angel sang” (The New York Times). In addition to performing with the finest orchestras in the United States, Midori has also performed throughout the world, including England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Poland, France, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Japan and Hong Kong. Highlights of Midori’s 2007-08 season include being designated an official Messenger of Peace by Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations.

Highly regarded as a collaborator, Charles Abramovic appears regularly with such artists as violinists Sarah Chang, Robert McDuffie, Viktoria Mullova, violist Kim Kashkashian and flutist Jeffrey Khaner. He has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, as well as for radio and television broadcasts in Asia, Europe and Canada.

Reservations are required, and tickets cost $150, which is tax deductible. For further more information visit shandelee.org or call 845/439-3277 or 212/288-4152.
