MONTICELLO, NY — Monticello Gaming & Raceway is gearing up for its third annual car show to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event is part of a six-month-long fundraising campaign, which has already raised over $3,600 since March.

On Saturday, June 28, antique and classic vehicles will be on display outside Monticello Gaming & Raceway from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Awards will be presented to the top performers in each class. Classes will be determined by year and make of vehicle and automotive modifications.

Vehicle registration will begin at 11:00 a.m., and the first 150 cars to sign up will receive honorary plaques. Pre-registration is available by calling 845/794-4100, ext. 600 or 493. The registration fee is $10 and all proceeds will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. The soceity will feature an information booth at the event where Terry Ebersole, National MS Society Southern New York Chapter director of development, will be available throughout the day to answer any questions.

Monticello Gaming & Raceway will host a full entertainment schedule for the day and evening. The Ponytails, a local ‘50s cover band, will provide entertainment during the car show from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and at night singer-songwriter Gennarose will perform songs from her latest album, “Spirit,” and many other favorites in the Lava Lounge. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and there is no cover charge to enter.

The car show will be Monticello Gaming and Raceway’s second event for MS this season. On Saturday, May 17, several employees participated in the National MS Walk, and, in addition to the walk, have been soliciting donations from guests since March.

Guests of Monticello Gaming & Raceway also joined the action by purchasing personalized messages on sneaker-shaped paper to show support for the cause. All of the messages are currently on display at the Gift Shop. Donations will continue to be accepted through September.
