The Narrowsburg trailer trail

NARROWSBURG, NY — If you’re a regular morning traveler of Route 97 and Route 52 in the Town of Tusten, you’ve probably seen a lot of modular homes, such as the one above, being hauled through the area. Ron Weaver, the general manager of Ritz Trans, which transports modular homes for various manufacturers, said the trailers are coming from an area near State College, PA. He said the area is the modular home capital of the Northeast, with eight manufacturers within a 25-mile radius.

Weaver said the homes have been going to many parts of Sullivan County and further into other counties and other states. Normally, the trucks would be routed over Interstate 84, but that road is currently closed to over-sized vehicles because of bridge work being done in Pike County, so the modulars are coming across the state line at Narrowsburg.
