Celebrate the solstice
with SASD
HURLEYVILLE, NY The Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development (SASD) will hold its first annual benefit and solstice celebration on Saturday, June 21 at the Sullivan County Museum on Main Street.
The event will celebrate Sullivan Countys beauty, richness and potential with the music of the Liberty Jazz Trio, landscape photography by local students, locally produced cheeses, cider and other locally produced refreshments. The event will be an opportunity to learn about local renewable energy and other green projects, expand your network and become a member and supporter.
SASDs mission is to bring the benefits of energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy production to homeowners, businesses, not-for-profits and local governments. Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther and Senator John Bonacic recently approved grants for $4,700 and $5,000 respectively, earmarked for SASDs farm energy project. When completed, this project may result in five Sullivan County farms qualifying for a total of just under $1,000,000 in solar electric systems.
