Local artist wins award at NOHO

ROSCOE, NY — Roscoe artist Jack Yelle has won an Award of Excellence at the NOHO Artwalk in New York City for this rendering of a Moran tugboat guiding a cargo vessel out of a Hudson River pier. The piece, titled “Easing Her Out,” was rendered in pencil on a 15-inch by 22-inch sheet of hand-made watercolor paper and based on a photo taken by the artist.

Jack and his artist-wife, Patricia, operate Morning Star Creations, an art and craft gallery in downtown Roscoe.

This year, the works of 140 artists were showcased at the NOHO Artwalk in local stores and restaurants in the neighborhood just north of Houston Street.
