Library plans dreamy gala

Political bigwigs to attend

MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Public Library will hold its second annual gala dinner dance, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on Friday, June 27. U.S. Representative Chris Carney, state senator Lisa Baker and state representatives John Siptroth and Mike Peifer will be guests of honor at the event, and an honorary dinner committee has been formed to recognize the decades of support that Pike County’s elected officials have provided for library services.

The evening will include cocktails on the banks of the Delaware River at The Riverview Inn, and gourmet cuisine created by award-winning chefs Sharon and Peter Daniel of Le Gorille restaurant, assisted by guest sous-chef Jeff Lamperti of Shohola. Decorations designed by Randy Auman of Aumandesign and Jim VanDevender (who are donating their services) will enhance the setting. There will be a live auction of “dreamy” items, featuring Pike County’s own auctioneer Sean Strub, and the night will conclude with dancing to the music of Rod Ruth and his ensemble, with Michael Rice at the piano.

Tickets for the Gala cost $150 each; individual sponsorships (and two tickets) cost $1,000; corporate sponsorships (and four tickets) cost $2,000.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will benefit the library’s current budgetary priorities: to support services in the current branches, to ensure a stable source of future operational funding and to support the library’s ongoing capital campaign for the new headquarters building.
