Bicycling festival benefits bike trail
LIBERTY, NY - LibertyBikeTrail.org will host the Liberty Bicycling Festival on Saturday, July 21, featuring a free Rock 4 Bikes concert. Gates for the festival will open at 9:00 a.m.
The Liberty Bicycling Festival aims to focus attention on bicycling and outdoor life in the Liberty area, as well as benefiting local business by bringing in many visitors from outside Sullivan County. The festival features a Mountain Bike Duathlon, Road Tour and Expo as well as the concert. Proceeds from the event will be used to improve trails and other outdoors venues in Sullivan County.
LibertyBikeTrail.org reached out to local and New York City bands for help on bringing the free concert to life. Three bands will be performing during the show: Sofmoure from Liberty; Kill By Inches from Queens; and Evil Empire from Hoboken, NJ. The concert begins at 12:15 p.m. on June 21 at Walnut Mountain/Pearson Park with a rendition of the national anthem by Gwen Nieves, a 12-year-old sixth grader from Liberty.
