Everett Saul signs with Florence Freedom

COCHECTON, NY - Everett Saul signed with the Florence Freedom of the Independent Frontier League on June 3. Saul is a 2003 Sullivan West graduate and a 2008 Missouri Western State University graduate. He was a member of the Sullivan Spartans of the Hudson Valley Collegiate Baseball League from 2004 through 2007. Saul joins former Sullivan Spartan and teammate Eddie Gonzalez on the Florence roster. Gonzalez, a catcher, is in his third Frontier League season.

At Missouri Western this past season, Saul went 8-4 with a save. He led his team in 17 appearances, completed five games, pitched 76 innings, had 79 strikeouts, was tied for the lead with 10 starts and was second in opponent’s batting with a .250 average. Last summer for the Spartans, Saul was 3-0 with an ERA of .24 with one earned run. He had 46 strikeouts in 29 innings.
