PATRICIA F. CARBAUGH
Patricia F. Carbaugh, lifelong area resident, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus in Goshen, NY. She was 59.
The daughter of Elvin F. Goda and the late Rose Marie Tomer Goda, she was born June 23, 1948 in Tuxedo, NY.
She was a bus monitor for Goshen Central School District and was a retired employee for Avon in Suffern, NY.
Survivors include her son, Robert A. Carbaugh of Pine Bush, NY; daughter, Bonnie J. Carbaugh of Chester, NY; father, Elvin F. Goda of Washingtonville, NY; brothers, John Goda of Afton, PA and Mark Goda of Milanville, PA; sisters, Laura Marshall of Wurtsboro, NY and Renee Mege of Port Jervis, NY; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills, NY, with Deacon Chuck Santiago officiating.
CHERYL ANNE GUSZICK
Cheryl Anne Guszick, late of Sparrowbush, NY, passed away June 7, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was 50.
Cheryl was an educator for the Port Jervis school system. She is the daughter of Dave and Geraldine Rouilliard Payne, who survive. Cheryl was born in Hancock, NY on May 13, 1958.
Cheryl was a member of St. Josephs R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA and a CCD Teacher. She is a three-time cancer survivor, and a member of the Look Good, Feel Good Program of the American Cancer Society. She was appointed grand marshall and a member of the Relay For Life team, Port Jervis and a member of the Avon Cancer Awareness Program. Cheryl was a long-term board of education member for Port Jervis schools. She was a coordinator for the Club Rec program and a softball coach. Cheryl was a graduate of Keystone College, La Plume, PA.
A family statement reads, She was a courageous, compassionate, strong hearted mother, sister and friend; she will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, David Guszick, and her daughter, Rachel Guszick, both at home; three sisters, Colleen Baggetta of Fairfax, VA, Sharon Demchak of New Haven, CT and Alexis Johnson of Archbald, PA; two brothers, Davy Payne and his fiancé Wendy of Daytona, Beach, FL and Thomas Payne of Forest City, PA; four nieces, Adrianna, Danielle, Samantha and Domonique; two nephews, David and Michael; and her former husband, David Guszick.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main Street, Port Jervis. The vigil wake service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. August Ricciardi officiating.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, June 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA, with the Rev. Raj as celebrant. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
WALTER F. KOHLER
Walter F. Kohler of Glen Spey, NY, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, PA. He was 76.
The son of the late Fred and Emi Wocker Kohler, he was born in Newark, NJ, June 15, 1931. Walter was the loving husband of 55 years to Ilse K. Kramer Kohler, who survives.
Walter was the former owner of Maple Crest at Washington Lake. He was a retired operating technician for Horton Medical. He also worked at the Ford Motor Company assembly line. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Army Intelligence.
A family statement read: Walter was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will truly be missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife at home; three sons, Peter Kohler of Beacon, NY, Robert Kohler of Pine Bush, NY and Bernhard Kohler of Walden, NY; two daughters, Erna Kohler of California and Linda Kohler of Middletown, NY; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Richard, Daniel, Michael, Cassandra, Lars and Courtney; and one sister, Helga Wong.
Walter was predeceased by two sisters, Christa and Grete.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 12, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Rasmussen Funeral Home on Route 97 in Barryville, NY.
A funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00 p.m. Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate. Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.

GEORGE JOSEPH QUINN
George Joseph Quinn, a sophomore at Sullivan West High School and a four-year resident of Callicoon, NY, died Friday, June 6, 2008 in Callicoon. He was 17.
The son of Jeffrey and Dawn DAmato Quinn, he was born October 26, 1990 in Staten Island, NY.
George was an avid skateboarder who loved his music.
Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey and Dawn DAmato Quinn; two brothers, Jeffrey and Bryan Quinn; his maternal grandparents, Mary Ann and Richard DAmato; his paternal grandmother, Theresa Quinn; his aunts and uncles, Sandra and Richard Quinn and Victor, Kathy and Nicholas DAmato; and many, many cousins and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., Callicoon.
Services will be held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, Route 97, Callicoon, with Father Ignatius Smith OFM officiating. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.
