Forestburgh ticket program promotes theatre to the young

Comedy ‘Forever Plaid’ to open season

FORESTBURGH, NY — The Forestburgh Playhouse has instituted a new ticket policy called “Tix at Six.” Tix at Six is a program aimed at high school and college students, to encourage these young adults to come and experience live theatre. Every day, Forestburgh Playhouse Box Office will offer $15 tickets beginning at 6:00 p.m. (subject to availability) to high school and college students ages 25 and under. Tix at Six tickets are limited to one ticket per performance, and college students must show a valid student ID to purchase the ticket. Matinee performances are not included in the Tix at Six program.

The season opener is the New York musical comedy hit “Forever Plaid,” the story of “The Plaids,” a classic 1950s all-male singing group, who perform a concert in heaven (they had a slight auto mishap on their way to their first big gig.) It will have audiences rolling in the aisles and tapping their toes as “The Plaids” are miraculously revived to perform the concert that never was.

Performing precision harmonies and executing their delightfully outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, “The Plaids” perform some of the 1950s’ greatest hits: “Catch a Falling Star,” “Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing,” “Day-O,” and “Magic Moments.”

Full performance schedules for our 2008 season, which includes “Forever Plaid,” “Gypsy,” “Cabaret,” “The King and I,” “The Producers,” “M. Butterfly” and “Crossing Delancy,” can be obtained by visiting FBPlayhouse.com.
