Unjuried art show to celebrate the Catskills
LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY The Catskill Artists Gallery, 38 South Main Street in Liberty, will hold an unjuried show designed to celebrate the Catskill area in all its beauty, quirkiness and character. The subject is wide openpeople, places, things, ideas, anything that reminds us of our unique regionas is the medium.
Exhibitors may bring in any number of works as long as they total no more than 960 square inches (the equivalent of two 20-inch by 24-inch pieces) including frames or hanging devices. Three-dimensional art can also be one or more pieces, as long as the total doesnt exceed 24 inches in all three directions.
There will be a $20 nonrefundable fee for submission of the works. Works can be for sale, in which case there will be a 30 percent commission to the gallery.
The exhibition will start on Saturday, July 19, 2008 with a reception from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with refreshments and many artists on hand. It will run to August 31.
Artists who wish to submit their work can download an application from www.catskillartistsgallery.com or call 845/292-0310 to have one mailed. All works must be delivered to the gallery no later than Sunday, July 13 by 5:00 p.m. The gallery mails almost 1,000 postcards to potential visitors, and participants will receive extra postcards for their own mailings.
The gallery is open Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. For more information call 845-292-0310.
