The tractors are coming, the tractors are coming!

CALLICOON, NY — The 12th Callicoon Tractor Parade will roll down Main Street of Callicoon on Sunday, June 8. The parade begins at 12:00 noon sharp, rain or shine. This year’s parade leader will be Jim and Diane Hughson. Lineup for the tractors will be at the Delaware Youth Center at the end of Main Street, which also sponsors the event.

There will be new T-Shirts for sale during the parade, and the Post Office will issue a special cancellation stamp, honoring the Tractor Parade, as it has in the past. The postmaster will be in town during the parade selling the special envelopes that will commemorate the day. Proceeds of these sales all go to the Youth Center.

This year, there will not be a Callicoon Volunteer Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast because the new firehouse kitchen will not be ready. However, many Callicoon restaurants will be prepared to serve breakfast.

The traditional chicken barbeque will occur right on schedule at the end of the parade, however. As usual, it will be at the Delaware Youth Center field, where all the tractors will be lined up for display and Miller’s Barbecue of Walton will grill up barbeque, along with the Youth Center’s popular hot dogs on a bun
